    Thanks for contacting PLG Tom. The price to set up a Florida LLC (at the time of this post) with the state is $125. Attorney’s fees vary depending on your unique circumstances and the time involved with developing your Operating Agreement. Also, a case in Florida earlier this year (Olmstead) severely limited the asset protection strategies of single member LLC’s in FL, but there are ways around it. Some people may opt to set up an LLC in another venue that statutorily protects LLC’s with charging order protection while other people may want to set up a Florida LLC with multiple members and issue differing types of stock (i.e., voting and nonvoting stock).
